EXAGRID SYSTEMS ANNOUNCES CERTIFICATION OF THE EXAGRID DISK-BASED BACKUP SYSTEM WITH COMMVAULT GALAXY BACKUP & RECOVERY

Certification ensures seamless integration between
backup products for customers like Grant Thornton LLP

Westborough, - Mass. October 30, 2006 - ExaGrid Systems, Inc. (www.exagrid.com) today announced that the ExaGrid system has been certified for use with CommVault® Galaxy™ Backup & Recovery software, versions 5.9 and 6.1. With this certification, organizations can be assured of the highest levels of interoperability and support between ExaGrid's turnkey disk-based backup system and CommVault Galaxy, a component of CommVault's QiNetix Unified Data Management™ suite.

"CommVault is committed to providing unified, scalable data protection for enterprises of all sizes," said Eric Rice, senior director, strategic alliances of CommVault. "We are pleased that ExaGrid has been certified for use with CommVault Galaxy. Our Galaxy backup product with native support for disk-to-disk backup, combined with ExaGrid's turnkey data-reduced disk-based backup system, provides a highly effective and efficient backup solution for our customers."

"Organizations using CommVault Galaxy as their existing backup application can now seamlessly back up to disk instead of tape by using ExaGrid's turnkey disk-based backup system," said Bill Andrews, president and CEO of ExaGrid. "This certification makes disk-based backup easy and cost effective for organizations using CommVault Galaxy because they can preserve their existing investment in Galaxy while adding disk with 2X compression and 20 to 1 data reduction to ensure scalability, and faster and more reliable backups and restores."

One of CommVault and ExaGrid's mutual customers is Grant Thornton LLP, the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International, one of the six global accounting, tax and business advisory organizations. Grant Thornton International operates member firms in 112 countries, including 50 offices in the United States.

"We have relied on CommVault Galaxy for years to help us back up thousands of systems and chose ExaGrid when we decided to move our backups to disk," said Paul Brzeskiewicz, data center manager for Grant Thornton LLP. "We're very pleased to see these two vendors working closer together to ensure our backups are as reliable, simple to maintain and as effective as possible."

ExaGrid is the industry's most cost-effective disk-based backup solution and is ideal for mid-market and small enterprise companies looking to quickly eliminate the hassles of tape backup. ExaGrid works with existing backup applications to provide faster and more reliable backups and restores. With ExaGrid, customers can experience a 30 to 80 percent reduction in their backup windows. ExaGrid's innovative approach minimizes the amount of data to be stored by providing standard data compression for the most recent backups, along with byte-level delta data reduction for all previous backups. ExaGrid's byte-level delta data reduction technology stores changes from backup to backup instead of storing full file copies. This unique approach reduces the disk space required by at least 20 to 1, delivering unparalleled cost savings and performance at 30 percent the cost of standard SATA drives without data reduction.

CommVault Galaxy backup and recovery software, a component of the CommVault® QiNetix™ product suite, provides high-performance backup and restores of enterprise applications and data. Simple policies define when and how data is protected and stored, providing efficient use of storage devices and media, and enabling fast, granular backup and recovery in distributed, heterogeneous environments. QiNetix and Galaxy deliver greater data availability and manageability, provide seamless integration with leading operating systems, applications and environments, and are designed to provide superior data protection.
